In Memory
It is with sadness that we must convey the news that Tom Veit passed away on March 31, 2006. Tom was the founder of this website. He served with Recon Platoon, 2nd/60th, 9th Infantry Division in 1968-69. Tom was buried at Arlington National Cemetery with honors. May he rest in peace while his 2/60th brothers carry on the mission.

The
2nd Battalion 60th Infantry Headquarters was transferred 15
April 1996 to the United States Army Training and Doctrine
Command and activated at Fort Jackson, South Carolina as a basic
training battalion which remains on active duty today. This Web
Site is not
sanctioned by nor affiliated with the Department of the Army nor any agency of
the Department of Defense including any element of the
2nd Battalion 60th Infantry at Fort Jackson,
South Carolina.
This Web Site is dedicated to the Infantrymen of the
2nd Battalion 60th Infantry, 3rd Brigade and 1st
Brigade, 9th Infantry Division. We intend for this site to be a
continual work in progress. Our desire is to add pages for each
of the companies assigned to the
2/60th (HHC, A, B, C, D and E). However, that can only happen with your help. Send us pictures,
graphics or text via our Webmaster, Mike Harris, at the email
address below.
See http://www.mrfa.org/2007.Reunion.htm for MRFA reunion information. We were not part of the Mobile Riverine Force, but they welcome us to their reunions. Most U.S. Army members of the MRFA are fellow Infantrymen who we can relate to. You can get information about joining the MRFA by clicking HERE. John Weiss is our point of contact for MRFA and the reunion. Contact John by clicking here. The 2007 MRFA Reunion will be held at the Adam's Mark Hotel in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jim Lehne has arranged for a "Hospitality Room" at the reunion. Even though a lot of us did not ride the Riverine Craft, we are certainly welcome at the large MRFA Reunion. See the "2007 Reunion" link below. You may contact Jim by clicking here.
